Taylor casually picks up from the floor a couple wind-up toys that somehow got stuck under the table at a hard-to-see place, leaving them face-up on the table so they don't move off the surface again.

Well, truthfully it's likely Kuk's forces would be doing far more than pettily destroying Christmas the way the Grinch does, but Taylor sees absolutely no reason not to downplay Kuk for this day. If someone is sticking around begrudgingly she'd rather not accidentally say something that sounds like being with Kuk is worthwhile in any way.
