Look, I will maybe entertain the tiniest bit of optimism if it seems like there's some deviation in the assimilation progression. But I won't really know for another thirty minutes or so.

I'd rather assume the worst and wind up happily surprised, than have hope that just gets crushed. [Which is maybe not the kind of thing someone else wants to see someone go through. But he knows himself well enough to know it's what he needs.] I want to spend this time just...existing. And remembering the things that made me me. And focusing on the fact that at least I did some good.
[There's at least a peace that can come of that. Of accepting that sometime you can't control every outcome. That you just have to wait and see what the universe has in store, even if it might be bad.]
