Paul is sitting at one of the smaller tables with a half-eaten pastry and a large mug of decaf. He's staring intently at his phone, brows knit in conversation as he scrolls through his text messages.
He pulls up his contacts and calls someone. Anyone with good enough hearing might catch that whoever he's calling sent him to voicemail. He frowns and ends the call without even listening to the whole message.
When someone passes by, he speaks up, still staring at his phone. "Hey, you wouldn't happen to have any contacts outside of town, would you?" He finally looks up, a tinge of concern in his eyes. "When was the last time you heard from them?"
