His chin lifts slightly, battling a needling paranoid suspicion of whether or not Dan was actually enjoying his company, or just trying to be nice. But he supposes he wouldn't get to see this little secret if he wasn't. Miguel clearly wasn't much the type for platitudes, in no rush to return the compliment.
