Conversations.

Who: Nog and you/Nog Boimler and Mariner
What: Exploring the Pole/Discussing the Prime Directive.
Where: The Pole/Nog's room.
When: After Arrival/After Boimler is healed.
Warnings/Notes: Alcohol mention

Around the Pole

One of the first things Nog does, after making sure both of the ensigns are settled, is politely ask the Yetis if they'd be willing to make him a uniform. It's a small, simple thing, but wearing it makes him feel just a bit more ready to take on what's coming.

Afterwards, he can be found in the Main Workshop, seeing what he has to work with. It's not a lot, but there's definitely something he can do with it. The real question is whether or not he should.

The other location he spends most of his time in is the training room. Not so much to train, though there is some of that, but to see how it all works. And he's actually pretty impressed. It's not a holodeck, but he wasn't really expecting one. The mannequins are all pretty impressive mechanical work all on their own

The Prime Directive

Once Boimler's fought off his nanoprobe infection it's time for more serious matters. Nog calls both him and Mariner to his room.

There's a table laid out with some options for drinks. Nothing alcoholic though. If there even is any of that here.

There's a conversation they need to have sooner rather than later, and it's best not to have to drunk.

Loki relaxes and smiles. "Indeed. The first Ferengi in Starfleet. I am rather fond of stories of those who break such barriers."

He inclines his head. "If you are already used to the idea... Either you adjust much faster than Ensign Boimler, or you are experienced with meeting people from other worlds."

[Loki nods] I have spent... it feels like years, now, in various strange pocket dimensions. This is the first time one of them has been a form of Midgard. Unfortunately I have not met anyone from a place I recognize.

I will refrain from doing so. I... am becoming more accustomed to strangers assuming I must be a bloodthirsty monster because of the species I did not even know I was born as until recently. Or assuming that I, personally, am a destructive conqueror, or would want to destroy the world to spite my enemies.

Not Mirror Universe. But one where I made a different choice. Except most are familiar with the one where I made a worse choice.

You will likely learn of the myths about me anyway. It is hard to escape them when you are a well-known god, even if your faith is largely defunct and a matter more for academic thought than active belief.
