The Quiet Of A Room With No One Around To Find Me Out [Open]
Who: Elle & you!
What: Elle has been hiding since Halloween night. She's fine.
Where: Her room, the infirmary, or the kitchen.
When: Post-Halloween event, aftermath of meeting the Baba Yaga (content warnings below apply to this thread!)
Warnings/Notes: limb loss, dismemberment, self-inflicted injury, references to cannibalism
Elle doesn’t want to admit that she’s avoiding everyone, but every day she fails to leave her quarters is a day that makes that fact harder to ignore. In the aftermath of Halloween night, it’s been all too easy to fall back into her tried and true coping mechanism: isolation and making sure it’s no one’s problem but her own.
a. Elle won’t be leaving her room anytime soon, but there’s plenty of reasons to seek her out. Maybe they need to ask her something, maybe they heard the elves or yetis gossiping about how she was in the infirmary on Halloween, or maybe they just haven’t seen her recently and decide to visit. She can only hope that Jack and Loki have kept quiet about the whole thing.
If someone knocks on the door, she will answer it, but she’ll only open the door enough to stick her head out, keeping her left side blocked from view. She’ll greet them with a casual “what’s up?”
She looks exhausted.
b. Inevitably, the food and medical supplies Elle hoarded before people got back from Burgess is has run out. She doesn’t have much of a choice but to leave.
Elle decides to venture out early in the morning, ideally before even any ‘morning people’ have woken up and after even the ‘night owls’ have gone to sleep. She plans to hit the infirmary first, then the kitchen, and hopefully slink back to her room unnoticed. Her arm is covered by a heavy blanket thrown over her shoulders, so hopefully if she does run into anyone, she can make the interaction short and get past them unscathed. She’s silent as she sneaks through the halls (which is not very helpful if she ends up in someone direct line of sight), but noise is inevitable as she rifles through the medical supplies and pantry respectively. Anyone passing by those rooms will be able to hear that someone’s up and about.
c. Let me know if you have another idea!
(( action or prose is fine, will match style ))

Maria is all ears. She lets out a little scoff, not a demeaning one, rather a self defeating one.
"Sounds complicated, how does that even work?"
no subject
Elle glances at the doorway and takes a cautious step toward it. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but I really do have things I need to take care of sooner rather than later."
no subject
Maria sounds choked up, she's holding back another coughing fit. Her lungs are on fire. What was the emotion stored in the lungs, again? Who cares. Anyways,
"I don't know you or any of these people here. If...If you're in trouble or did something wrong, I don't care. Please, I...Let me come with you, I won't tell anyone. I just can't stand to be alone another second."
She's a very sick lady who lost her daughter and sounds like she's on the verge of crying, how could anyone think she is a threat?
cw: menstruation
"Like I said, I was just grabbing menstruation pads. I can't-- I need to take care of this. Preferably alone. I can-- I can..."
Fuck.
"I can call someone I trust to keep you company, but I am literally bleeding through my pants and can't stay right now."

Maria shakes her head.
"I'm sorry, I just...Tend to get upset at night knowing that Laura is..."
She gestures widely, then hangs her head low.
"I...I better go now. See you tomorrow. Hope you can take care of your...Business. Goodnight."
She leaves rather quickly. Shapeshifts into a little fly at first, and goes on a wall undisturbed to spy Elle's next move. She mentioned Jack and Bunny pretty casually, those are known dangerous individuals. What about that Dan guy?
When Maria shapeshifted into Eddie to take a look in his center, it was very quick and didn't really learn much. Just a few teammates' names, and Dan is apparently someone loved by most. She'll use him later. Let's get an idea of what Elle and "Dan" are gonna talk about next...

Elle feels more than a little bad for brushing Maria off, but doesn't stop her from leaving. She just takes a few deep breaths and walks to the kitchens.
When she gets there, she immediately starts raiding the pantry. She goes for soup, gatorade, protein bars, and any kind of jerky she can find. Not her meals of choice, but they're things that will keep her energy up as she continues to heal. Every item gets shoved into her bag (along with a few treats, because Elle's fucking earned it).

So now the flies are buzzing, flying and crawling about Elle's damaged arm. It's not rotting, but it might as well be, in Elle's head. Let's have her acknowledge that.
cw: insects, body horror
She goes to swat it away with her free hand, but--
There is no free hand. Her right hand is holding the blanket in place.
Then the buzzing increases, and a crawling sensation starts on her left arm-- stump- whatever it is. Elle lifts the blanket to look and--
The blanket falls off her shoulders as she cries out. Her limb is turning black and putrid. It smells like necrosis. Death. And there are flies covering it, feasting away on the rotting flesh.
Elle moves to wipe them off, uncaring of the sensitivity of the injured area.
"Whatthefuckwhatthefuckwhatthefuck-" she can barely hear her own words over the pounding of blood in her ears.
cw: blood, body horror
Flop.
Just yet another flesh monster. Nothing new for Maria, but like they say, if it's not broken don't fix it. If it works it works. The small meat monster skitters away towards a corner leaving a trail of blood.
She can't kill Elle, it's too soon for that. And it's probably too soon to shapeshift into her or someone else too. If anything Maria knows that Dan is knowledgeable about magic and that he is well liked, which makes him a good candidate. Still, she's getting a bit insecure about making to big a step. That being said, she keeps skittering as this chunk of meat, pinballing about the room for the sake of making a bloody mess. Either Elle is caught cleaning up and looking suspicious, or someone walks in to a room that clearly doesn't look how it is supposed to look, with all the paranoia and fear that follows.
